Classroom Friendly Sharpeners has a new Yellow!

New YELLOW!
Check out my new Yellow Classroom Friendly Sharpener.  If you haven't heard, it is the quietest sharpener on the market.  But my favorite thing about it is the ease of use and the great point it puts on my pencils.  Turn the crank just a couple of turns and you have a fabulously sharpened pencil.
I sharpen 36 pencils in my classroom at least twice each day.  With my new yellow sharpened it is a quick efficient job.

Below are photos from a first grader who figured out how to use the sharpener with no instructions.  That is how easy it is to use.  You can order a few for your classroom by clicking this link. and visiting the Classroom Friendly Supplies web page.
Squeeze the black handles and insert the pencil

Grab the handle and start to turn

Just a few turns and your pencil is sharpened!

Now to make some Art!

Oh, and did you know  you can replace the blades on your old sharpener?   I have a sharpener that is about 3 school years old.   I added a new blade when school started and it is just like new!  I love these sharpeners!

Quiet and Efficient Pencil Sharpener, you say?

stubby pencils from this school year
As the year winds down, I am looking at a bucket full of stubby pencils and reflecting on just what that translates in to.  So here is the Math,  180 days of school times 36 pencils used in the Art Room every day, sharpened twice per day minimally.  So that is 72 sharpens each day times 180 days (minimally) equals 12980 times my sharpener turns around a pencil in a single year.  You need a really efficient pencil sharpener to handle that wear and tear and I do have my favorite sharpener for the job.
Sharpening 6 baskets or 6 pencils 2X a day

My Classroom Friendly Sharper has been my go to for a few years now and it does an absolutely terrific job!  Just check out that pencil in the photo above and the point that it makes every time I sharpen.  The best thing about my sharpener is that it is still going strong and I have sharp pencils every time I turn that crank!  No dull pencils in my art room!    I've even run raffles for them on this blog in the past.  I am SOLD on this super quiet, super efficient and not to mention really cool looking pencil sharpener.    I'll be putting it away to rest in a few days but it will be back in service come fall.  This will probably be the last pencil sharpener I will ever buy!!!

My students LOVE my Classroom Friendly Sharpener!

If you haven't tried out the terrific sharpeners from Classroom Friendly Supplies, you are missing out on the best sharpener on the market.  Most of the time, I use it and sharpen all the pencils for my students but it is so easy that even my third grade friend here on the left can use it with ease.  Not to mention the fact that all my students are eager to give it a try.  It does such a great job that I have completed stopped using my electric sharpener.  It chews up the pencils; my classroom friendly sharpener sharpens them to an amazing point.  Check out the bottom photo for that image.  I especially like the ease of removing the cutting blades to easily clean out broken tips.  I chose not to mount mine, keeping it sitting on top of my desk instead.  When a student's pencil breaks, I grab my sharpener and take care of it right at their table.  It's amusing how fascinated they are to see a crank sharpener.  "That is the coolest sharpener" rings through my room daily.  If you haven't been lucky enough to test one of these out, head on over to the Classroom Friendly site and grab one for your classroom by clicking here.  There are lots of colors to chose from to mesh with your own color preferances or classroom motifs.  Next on my wish list is a purple one!!!

The Quietest Classroom Pencil Sharpener....GIVE AWAY!

Yep, you read that correct.  I have the pleasure of giving away one of these amazing pencil sharpeners to one lucky follower from the Continental U.S.  But first, a follow-up to my first post.  I've enjoyed the use of this pencil sharpener for a week.  I even bravely mounted it, on a bookcase quite successfully, and allowed a few of my fifth grade students to give it a run.  I wasn't sure I would allow the students to operate it.   It worked great, they loved it.    Everytime I place a pencil into the sharpener, give it 2-3 turns of the handle then remove it, I marvel at that amazingly sharp point.  It's not quite as fast as my trusty electric sharpener BUT that electric sharpener can not create such a fine point and often it eats my pencils.  So,  jump down the page and enter to win.  Don't forget to visit Classroom Friendly Supplies over on Facebook and LIKE to enter to win.

The Quietest Pencil Sharpener and mine is Pink!!!

My new pink sharpener ready for action
A few weeks ago, the teacher from across the hall came into my room with her newest purchase.  She was very pumped to show it to me. She taught abroad last year and had experience the "perfect" pencil sharpener.  The sharpener she was demonstrating, she had found online and immediately ordered.  I was extremely impressed by the quality, ease of use, and the most amazing tip I had ever seen on a pencil.  I went home that evening and began to research, looking for my own amazing pencil sharpener.  My research led me to Classroom Friendly Supplies where I discovered exactly what I had been searching for.  The best part was I did not have to wait for it to arrive by international mail during a busy shipping season.  It arrived in less than a week, right after Thanksgiving.  This is a small company run by a teacher and she was willing to send me a free sharpener to test if I agreed to share with all of you about my experiences.  Let me tell you, my beautiful pink sharpener arrived today.  I was busily sharpening pencils as soon as I took it out of the package and it's true, it is terrific.  It's easy to use, is quiet, and sharpens a drawing pencil to a fine point with only one or two cranks.  I LOVE THIS PENCIL SHARPENER.  Sorry for shouting but I wanted to make sure you truly experienced my enthusiasm.  The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the mount.  I don't think I will be using it but it is equally easy to use without the mount.  I just place the pencil in the sharpener, put my left hand across the top of the sharpener and turn the crank with my right.  I'm not sure if I will share with my students, yet, or keep this all to myself! : }  I had been having trouble with my electric pencil sharpener with my drawing pencils, they would sharpen, break, I'd try again and a break.  Sometimes I feel like I am just sharpening away the pencil.  I sharpened about a dozen with this machine and not one of the pencils broke.  Yes, the same pencils that my electric sharpener keeps eating up.
Pencil in place, ready for a few cranks

Check out these points!!!
Here is a link to a few videos on the Classroom Friendly Supplies site.  I'll follow-up in a week or so and let you know how its going with my sharpener.    You can replace the blades when they dull so I think I've found a lifetime friend!!!
