The final shape for the 4th grade shape unit has been a cylinder. Students explored the works of Andy Warhol, particularly his soup can. They were then challenged to create a work that would normally be presented in 2-D that they would then turn into a 3-D cylinder. The approaches varied drastically as they were encouraged to make their own choices even with mediums.
Unfortunately, I didn't get photos so am limited to this one that was completed today. Other tubes sported butter, insects, animals, abstract designs and cartoon characters to name just a few.
